My name is Bobby Rauch and I am a 10th grade lacrosse player at Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, FL.
While we all love to play lacrosse, unfortunately, not every child will have the opportunity to play this great game.
I established Giving Lax, an organization dedicated to bringing lacrosse to underprivileged youth in South Florida. Giving Lax collects new and used lacrosse equipment to outfit the children with all necessary protective gear. Once we’ve collected enough equipment, we begin our instructional lacrosse clinics at various after-school centers.
In January 2011, I began a 10 week program at the Youth Activity Center (YAC) in Boca Raton, an after-school program for children ages 5-12 of low-income families. I’ve held weekly one-hour instructional clinics teaching the basic skills and drills of lacrosse. The program culminated with each participant receiving a certificate and their first very own lacrosse stick!
This summer, the children from the Youth Activity Center and the Florence Fuller Center will be joined together for the first time to learn and play lacrosse. I will be providing instructional clinics to over 50 children and donations are always welcome.
On October 5, I started my third 10 week clinic at the Youth Activity Center. I am looking foward to the next ten weeks of GIVING MORE TIME, SKILLS, AND SMILES.
